For information on conservation activities in our area please visit their web site - http://www.watershed-alliance.com.The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is another organization that arranges to protect streams in our area by fencing out livestock and planting riparian buffers. "The Chesapeake Bay Foundation's (CBF) mission is to Save the Bay, and keep it saved." To find and help with projects in our area, please visit http://www.cbf.org.

Extremely serious threat to the Alaska ecosystem and to a world food supply - Salmon
Please take some time in the near future to review as much information as you can find on the proposed Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay, Alaska. Please help to get the word out about this potential mining effort and the significant threat this mining operation would pose to one of the most remarkable ecosystems on the planet. The incredible size of this mine, the size of the two tailings lakes proposed to contain the enormous quantities of toxic waste generated, and the mineral mining industry's track record for causing devastating environmental impacts makes this mine one of the largest threats to the Alaskan ecosystem. I urge all of you to get involved, get the word out, and stay informed. Links will be supplied to the appropriate members of Congress, the White House, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the near future. Please review the available data and information and make your opinion known. Individually, we can make a difference, united we can make a proposed mine just a memory and help secure the future of one of the most beautiful places on earth. Please view the web sites provided below to learn more.
